FAQs

What types of treatment do you offer?

We offer chemical peels using a variety of Vitality Institute (VI) and SkinMedica Peels. Each product is uniquely formulated to treat a specific condition. During your first appointment, Dr. Noll will discuss your goals with you and determine the best peel to achieve those results.

How does it work?

A chemical peel removes the top layers of skin which contains many dead skin cells. Removing those dead and damaged cells reveals beautiful new skin cells below. Chemical peels can effectively treat melasma, sun damage, fine lines and wrinkles, acne, and acne scars.

Am I a good candidate?

We offer chemical peels that are safe for all skin types. Before treatment,  Dr. Noll will consult with you to help you determine which peel is best for your needs.

How much does it cost?

Prices range from $175-$425+/peel (Cost varies by type of peel and areas to be treated. Prices are subject to change without notice.)

Does it hurt?

The peels we offer are very tolerable. Some patients report a mild stinging sensation that quickly resolves.

What is the downtime?

Most patients experience peeling of the skin on days 3-7 after the peel is applied. The downtime is primarily “social downtime.” Patients feel fine but have visible evidence that the skin is peeling. Patients are advised to protect the skin from sun exposure during and after the peeling is complete and to not pick at the skin as it peels.

How many treatments will I need?

The number of peels needed is dependent on type and severity of the condition being treated, anticipated results, amount of sun exposure, and whether or not recommended products are used. Since most patients with acne, acne scars, and melasma require multiple treatments, we do offer discounted packages. Sign up below to receive our monthly specials.

When will I see results?

Your skin will be done peeling approximately 7 days after the peel is applied, revealing rejuvenated skin.

What to Expect

  • One week prior to treatment all topical products that contain active ingredients like retinoic acid, retinol, alpha hydroxy and beta hydroxy acids, and benzoyl peroxide, should be discontinued.

    BEFORE
  • The procedure starts with prepping the face. Once prepped the chemical peel solution is applied. The peel solution will be left on the face or removed after several minutes, depending on the type of peel.

A Closer Look at the Types of
Chemical Peels

A Closer Look at the Types of Chemical Peels

Superficial Chemical Peels

Superficial chemical peels are often referred to as the “lunchtime peels” because they are gentle and allow patients to return to normal activity, with sun protection, immediately. They utilize a unique blend of ingredients that remove the top layer (epidermis) of dead skin cells resulting in a beautiful healthy glow.  As part of a regular skincare routine they can help minimize the appearance of pores, improve acne, fine lines, and even out skin tone.

They are great to do a week before big events where you want your skin to glow. It is recommended to do a test run before the big day to determine exactly how your skin will respond to the peel. With these peels, patients will experience mild to moderate peeling, depending on the peel, the week after the peel is applied.

Medium Depth Chemical Peels

Medium depth chemical peels are more aggressive than superficial chemical peels as they remove from the epidermis to the dermis. These peels are great for hyperpigmentation caused by acne scars and melasma. They are also great for mild to moderate sun damage and wrinkles. Like the superficial chemical peels, they also result in a week of peeling. Peeling usually starts three days after the peel is applied. By the seventh day after the peel is applied dark spots will be lighter and the skin smoother. When part of a regular skincare routine, the skin will have a more even tone and texture.

Protecting Your Investment

Dr. Noll recommends incorporating products that will help achieve results faster and maintain them longer. These products include sunscreens, lightening creams, and products that will accelerate cellular turnover.
