Botox® and Dysport®
“Botox is by far our most popular treatment. It can correct current wrinkles and prevent future ones. When done properly patients look rested and not frozen, unless frozen is the goal. Treatment is based on what the patient wants and what is possible. I’m always excited for new Botox patients because they love their results and always wish they’d started sooner.” – Dr. Noll

FAQs
"I don't want to be frozen."
While not technically a question, it is definitely the most common concern patients have about Botox. The good news is that patients do not have to be “frozen” to get the benefits of Botox. “Frozen” means no movement and no ability to create facial movements in the area treated with Botox. Using less than the recommended dosage as per the manufacturer, AKA “baby Botox”, allows patients to get the benefits of Botox without being frozen. This means that patients will have some ability to move after the Botox has taken effect. This way of doing Botox creates a more natural result.
Who will be doing the treatment?
Dr. Noll performs all Botox and filler treatments.
How much does it cost?
We charge a unit price depending on how many units are needed. The more units needed, the lower the price per unit. We only charge for units needed and not a flat fee for a specific area. Have a budget? No problem. Just let us know. Please note that we do have a 20-unit minimum.
When will I see results?
Most patients see results in 7-10 days. Some patients see results sooner. While some patients see results later. We recommend waiting 2 weeks before assessing results and adding more units.
How long do results last?
If there is still muscle movement after the treatment, then results last about 3 months. If there is no muscle movement after treatment, then about 4 months. Because Dr. Noll tries to leave patients with some movement for a more natural look, results last about 3 months.
Am I a good candidate?
Whether for softening wrinkles or preventing them from forming, Botox can help most people who create wrinkles from facial expression. We have recently noticed an increase in patients in their mid-20s coming in to get “baby Botox” to prevent future wrinkles. Baby Botox is a smaller dose of Botox that softens muscle contraction but does not cause a frozen look. Dr. Noll believes that baby Botox is the best anti-aging hack.
Allergan, the company that manufactures the Botox brand, does not recommend Botox for people who are pregnant, nursing or have any neuromuscular disorder like Myasthenia Gravis or Lou Gehrig’s (ALS) Disease.
Does it hurt?
Most people experience minimal discomfort from Botox injections. Some areas on the face are more uncomfortable than others. Around the eyes and mouth seem to be the most sensitive, but still tolerable.
What is the downtime?
There is no true downtime, but we ask our patients not to lie down for 1 hour and to refrain from strenuous exercise for 6 hours after the treatment.
What areas can be treated?
Over the years, Botox has proven to be effective and consistent in preventing wrinkles. In addition to being the premier anti-aging treatment, its use has expanded to include: migraines, excessive sweating (hyperhidrosis), eyebrow lifting, lip enhancement (lip flip), gummy smile, nasal flare, teeth grinding (masseter), facial reshaping (masseter), defining the jawline (Nefertiti lift), neck bands, mouth frown (DAO), and chin wrinkles. We even use Botox to contour the trapezius muscles for a longer appearing neck called the “Barbie neck” and calf muscles to slim the calf area.
What to Expect
-
If prone to bruising, it is recommended that any medication that increases the risking of bruising be discontinued one week prior to treatment. Click here for the complete list. We also recommend abstaining from alcoholic beverages the night before the treatment and caffeine the morning of treatment.
-
Most patients tolerate the treatment well. Just prior to treatment the area will be prepped with alcohol and the treatment performed. The treatment takes about 5-10 minutes.
-
Patients are instructed to remain upright for the next hour and to abstain from exercise for 6 hours. Patients can typically expect to see results 7 to 10 days after treatment. Most patients will return in 3 months for re-treatment.

A Closer Look at Botox
A Closer Look at Botox
Premier Anti-Aging
Botox, or botulinum toxin type A, is a purified protein derived from the bacterium Clostridium botulinum. It has been used in medicine for several decades, including for cosmetic purposes. When used cosmetically, Botox is injected into specific facial muscles to temporarily reduce the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles.
The primary reason for these lines and wrinkles is the repeated muscle contractions that occur when we make facial expressions such as frowning or smiling. Over time, these muscle movements can cause lines to form, particularly in areas like the forehead, between the eyebrows (glabellar lines), and the outer corners of the eyes (crow’s feet).
Correct and Prevent
Botox corrects early wrinkles and can prevent future wrinkles. Botox works by blocking the signals between nerves and muscles in the treated area. This temporarily relaxes the muscle, reducing its ability to contract forcefully. As a result, the overlying skin appears smoother, and the wrinkles become less noticeable. When maintained over time, Botox can prevent the formation of future wrinkles.
It’s essential to emphasize that Botox is a temporary solution. The effects typically last around 3 to 4 months, and gradually, the muscle activity will return to normal. If you wish to maintain the results, you will need to schedule follow-up treatments.
Quick and Straightforward
The procedure itself is relatively quick and straightforward. A very small needle is used to inject Botox into the targeted muscles. Most patients experience minimal discomfort during the procedure, and there’s usually no need for anesthesia.
After the treatment, you might notice some mild redness or swelling at the injection sites, but this should subside quickly. You can generally resume your regular activities immediately after the appointment, but we ask that you not lie down for an hour and wait six hours before strenuous exercise.
As with any cosmetic procedure, there are potential side effects to consider. Some of these side effects include temporary bruising, injection site lump that resolves in a few minutes, headache, and heaviness of the eyebrow. Serious complications are rare when the procedure is performed by a qualified and experienced professional like Dr. Noll.
To ensure that Botox is the right option for you, we require a cosmetic consultation prior to treatment with Dr. Noll. During the consultation, we will discuss your goals and expectations, as Botox may not be the most suitable option for all types of wrinkles or facial aging. Same-day consultation and treatment are available.
