Every treatment we offer—from advanced injectables to laser therapies and wellness support—is backed by science, safety, and decades of medical expertise. To help you feel confident in your care, we provide customized instructions for both pre- and post-treatment based on the procedure you’re receiving. These guidelines are designed to optimize your results, reduce potential side effects, and ensure a smooth experience from consultation to follow-up. Medications and Supplements To Watch Out For with Injectables

Some over-the-counter (OTC) medicines and supplements can thin the blood or affect platelets and increase the risk of bruising with injections (such as filler, Botox, PRP, IVs, etc.). Do not stop any prescription medication on your own. Always check with your prescribing provider and tell Davis Dermatology about everything you take (including vitamins, teas, and “natural” products).

These are some of the most common causes of increased bruising:
Acetyl-L-carnitine
Alcohol
Alpha-lipoic acid
Aspirin (Bayer, St. Joseph, Excedrin, Alka-Seltzer, Goody’s, BC Powder, others)
Bilberry
Borage oil
Cayenne pepper supplements
Chamomile
Cinnamon supplements

CoQ10 (Coenzyme Q10)
Cod liver oil
Devil’s claw
Diclofenac (Voltaren gel)
Dong quai
Echinacea
Evening primrose oil
Excedrin (aspirin-containing formulas)
Fish oil / Omega-3 / DHA / EPA
Flaxseed / flaxseed oil
Garlic supplements
Ginger

Ginkgo biloba
Ginseng
Glucosamine / Chondroitin
Green tea extract
Grapeseed extract / grapeseed oil
Ibuprofen (Advil, Motrin)
Ketoprofen
Krill oil
Licorice root
Milk thistle
Naproxen (Aleve, Naprosyn)
Pre-workout supplements

Resveratrol
