The BioTE method is bio-identical hormone replacement therapy utilizing the pellet method of hormone replacement. (See below for more information about pelletting.) After a thorough assessment, which includes hormonal lab studies, the BioTE method calculates a customized dose of pellet containing testosterone with or without estradiol to be placed under the skin.

Patients will complete an assessment of symptoms, have hormonal lab studies, and a consultation.
The patient is positioned lying on the side. The insertion area on either buttock is anesthetized with a local anesthetic, and the pellet is surgically placed under the skin. The insertion site is closed with steri-strips, and a surgical dressing is placed over the site. No stitches are needed.
The Pellet site may be tender for seven to ten days. No leg or glute workouts for three days for women and seven days for men.
